New Procedure for Opening Cases & Paying in Installments On May 1, 2005, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas will implement a new procedure for paying filing fees in full when a case was originally opened requesting installment payments. The procedure preferred by the court for paying filing fees at case opening remains the same. Currently, when filing a case in installments, the filer is required to log on to the court's internet site, download the One Time Credit Card Authorization Form, then fax that form to the court to manually process the fee. On May 1, the new procedure is for the filer to simply docket an Acknowledgment of Fee Due, found under Bankruptcy/Miscellaneous Events, when they are ready to pay the required fee. The filer will then be asked to select and pay the appropriate fee due. This new ECF event will also be used to pay miscellaneous fees as may be indicated on a Memorandum of Document Deficiency. This new procedure will help your office reduce the time and cost involved in making final installment payments. If you have any questions concerning this procedure, please contact the ECF Help Desk at 501-918-5590. Help Desk Hours of Operation Help Desk assistance is available Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In Little Rock call 918-5590 or outside Little Rock call 866-497-9068. |
